The Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra were three brand-new flagship smartphones that Samsung excitedly unveiled at their Unpacked event in San Francisco to start the year.
As the new devices made their debut on a global scale, I was given an early hands-on. All three smartphones are currently available in four color options: Cream, Green, Lavender, and Phantom Black. They also come with a broad variety of intriguing accessories and a few unique, only-to-Samsung colorways.
Each Samsung Galaxy S Series phone is fairly similar to those released the year before, but with internal and external design improvements, including a greater use of recyclable materials in the manufacturing process (glass, aluminium and plastics).
The top-tier model of the group, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, comes equipped with the best and most recent features. The bold 6.8″ QHD+ curved edge display is the largest display currently available, and it’s the only smartphone to have Samsung’s “S Pen” Stylus, which can even be stored inside the phone’s chassis when not in use. This is great for taking notes, and it also has some oddball applications, such acting as a remote for shooting pictures from a distance. As an alternative, the Galaxy S23+ features a comfortable 6.6″ FHD+ display, while the standard Galaxy S23 has a 6.1″ FHD+ display.
Each of the three phones' cameras has received an upgrade. Selfies that have excellent background bokeh and background blur appear better.
Each phone now has incredible low light photography and videography capabilities, better video stabilization, and astrophotography skills that would often need high-end camera equipment.
Each of the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra models has a variety of lenses. The S23 and S23+ have a 50MP main camera, but the S23 Ultra has a new, astounding 200MP rear camera. I'm eager to put things to the test in the real world.
However, this year's S23 and S23+ versions both have 200mAh more battery capacity than the prior generations' already long-lasting batteries. And because to its 5000mAh battery, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has maintained its amazing all-day (and longer) battery life.
Do you need to upgrade?
Although I haven't yet put these phones to the test in the real world, it's evident that these are high-performance phones that will probably meet all of your expectations, especially if you adore Android phones. And if you've previously enjoyed using a stylus, the S23 Ultra is unquestionably a phone to take into consideration.
The Ultra's screen is the ideal size to increase productivity, and the S Pen lets you take amazing notes, annotate documents, and even make digital art while you're on the go.
Beginning February 2, all of the new S Series devices will be up for pre-order. They will all become available in stores on February 17. The Galaxy S23 starts at $1349, the Galaxy S23+ at $1649, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra at $1949 in price.
